World Tourism Day: Technology Shapes How We Travel. People Shape the Stories We Remember.

Technology is changing how we travel. But the value of travel has never been defined by technology alone.

This year’s World Tourism Day theme, “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism”, reflects a transformation already well underway. AI is changing how travellers discover destinations, make choices and plan their journeys, while digital tools are creating new possibilities for tourism businesses and destinations alike.

For us, the opportunity lies precisely there: in using technology to make the journey better, while keeping the experience genuinely human.

Because when travellers arrive, what they encounter cannot be reduced to an algorithm. It is the character of a place. The architecture and design that give it identity. The flavours rooted in a region. The quality and attention behind exceptional service. The knowledge of those who can reveal a destination beyond the obvious. And, ultimately, the people who welcome you into their world.

These are also the qualities increasingly valued in premium travel – and qualities Croatia has in abundance. Its diversity lies not only in its landscapes, heritage and traditions, but in the people who preserve them, reinterpret them and transform them into experiences worth travelling for.

Stories – Experience Premium Croatia brings this richness together, connecting distinctive Croatian hotels, villas, camps, nautical experiences, gastronomy, travel agencies and authentic experiences, and bringing their stories closer to travellers around the world through a unique platform, international promotion and curated events.

So, as we look towards a more digital future for tourism, we celebrate those who make that future worth travelling into: our Stories members, everyone whose knowledge, creativity, dedication and hospitality shape the experience of Croatia – and, of course, the travellers who have already discovered it and those who are yet to discover its many charms.

Happy World Tourism Day to you all!
