During the Croatian Tourism Days, held in Opatija from November 22nd to 23rd 2024., the Croatian Chamber of Economy (CCE) highlighted premium tourism as the main driving force for the future development of the Croatian tourism industry. The Croatian Tourism Days took place on the 180th anniversary of tourism in Opatija, which emphasized the importance of discussing the future of quality-oriented and sustainable tourism with value-added content.
The Role of Architecture and Design in Premium Tourism
The CCE panel on architecture and design in hospitality emphasized the importance of using authentic local materials, technological innovations, and the role of architecture in creating a unique experience for visitors, the foundation for premium positioning. Architects Ante Vrban and Rujana Bergam Marković, together with interior designer Dean Franić, discussed the importance of design for a premium tourist experience, focusing on originality, storytelling, and attention to detail as core elements.
Celebrating the Success of “Stories – Experience Premium Croatia”
The event was the perfect occasion to promote the CCE’s “Stories – Experience Premium Croatia” platform, and celebrate its successful launch and first 100 members. The “Stories” party brought together key representatives from the tourism, business, and political sectors. Director of the Tourism Sector of the Croatian Chamber of Economy, Andreja Vukojević, stated that “Stories” is a step forward in positioning Croatia as a global leader in premium and sustainable travel.

During the event, special appreciation was given to individuals who supported the development of the platform, including Tonči Glavina, the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Kristjan Staničić, the Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board and Nikolina Brnjac, the former Minister of Tourism and Sports, as well as many other partners and friends.
